Deaf Awareness

1 in 5 adults in the UK are deaf or hard of hearing.

We offer deaf awareness training and support to develop your organisation in making your services more accessible to deaf people. We will deliver our training around your specific needs.

After training, employees will:

• Be able to deliver a more accessible experience to deaf and hard of hearing people
• Build your knowledge and understanding in relation to the barriers faced by deaf and hard of hearing people people
• Work more effectively with deaf and hard of hearing colleagues providing a better working environment for them
• Be confident in working with deaf and hard of hearing people in other environments avoiding awkwardness
• Have some understanding of the types and causes of deafness
• Have an understanding of what “reasonable adjustments” you can make under the Equality Act 2010
